Is there a lease?
Yes, it is a month to month lease.
If I move in on the 20th of the month, do I have to pay a full month's rent?
No, we prorate your rent from the time that you move in as well as when you move out. This means that you only pay rent for the time you are in the unit.
What is required at move in?
We do have you fill out some basic information for us. This includes your name, address, driver's licenses information, your place of employment and phone number, and an emergency contact information. If you a storing a vehicle, we would like a copy of your pink slip.
When is rent due?
Rent is always due on the 1st of the month, no matter when you move in.
Do you have a discount if you pay more then 1 month at time?
Yes we do. If you pay 3 months or more at a time, we will call you and remind you that your rent is coming due again. If you pay for 6 months at one time, we give you a 10% discount over the entire 6 months. The discount is applied to the 6th month only. If you pay for 12 months at one time, we will give you the 13th month free. These discounts apply to indoor storage as well as outdoor storage.
What happens if rent is paid after the 1st of the month?
We allow you a grace period of 4 day. If your rent is not paid by the 4th of the month we will charge you a $15 late fee on the 5th and an over lock is put on your unit/vehicle. If rent is not paid by the 28th of the month we chare a $25 Lien Fee and set an Auction date for a minimum of 30days later, it usually happens on the second Saturday of the following month.
If my property is scheduled for an Auction, how can I stop it?
The only way you can stop the Auction process is to pay the amount due in full no later then 4 p.m. on the Friday before the Auction day. We will only accept cash, money order, or cahier's check. We will not accept a personal check or a credit card payment.
What forms of payments do you allow?
We accept cash, check, money order, cashier's check, and a Visa or Master Card. We also can arrange to have your payments automatically withdrawn from your credit card or checking account on the first of every month.
Do I need to give notice when I move out?
No you don't, but we do prefer that you do. If you don't, we will charge your deposit a $5 fee for non notice.
What do I need to do in order to get my deposit back?
To get your full deposit, we ask that you give us a 10 day vacate notice ($5), return the key(s) and lock (if given) ($10) and to have you unit swept out or the area around your outdoor storage free of litter ($5).
What condition does a vehicle need to be in if it is stored at Northwest Storage?
Any condition is fine at this time. However if the vehicle can not move on it's own, we do require a payment of 3 months at move in and when rent is due again.
Do I need to bring anything extra if I store a vehicle?
We do have a form that needs to be filled out. The information needed is year, make, model, color, License Plate No., Year, and State licensed in, VIN #, Registered Owner's Name and the Lien holder's Name (if any). We are asking for a copy of your pink slips.
Do you insure my property while is it stored at your facility?
No, we are not able. We do provide SafeStor insurance for your property; however SafeStor does not proved coverage for vehicles. We do suggest that you contact your own insurance company and ask them if your property is insured while it is stored at a storage facility. Some home owner/renter's policies won't.
Do you send out monthly invoices?
No we don't. In order to keep our prices low for our renters we don't send out monthly invoices; however we do send out late notices.
Is there electricity inside your units or in the fenced in area?
No there is none inside the units or the fenced in area. We do have electrical outlets placed on the outside of our storage units that you may use.
I lost my key. What can I do to get a new one?
You will need to come into the main office and show ID. This is to make sure you have access to the space you are trying to get into. The locks will have to be replaced because we do not have a spare. It will take a few hours for the owners to cut the lock and replace it with a new lock, you may then get the new keys for the new lock. The fenced in lot keys will be able to replace your key in a few minutes.
Can I work on my vehicle why it is stored at your facility?
Yes you can. We do ask that if you work inside of our units or even store anything that may leak, that you place a trap, card board or something that will protect the floors from any type of leak.
